Color Management

Color management is a technique that is not well understood, even by professionals. It offers a cut & dry solution to the problems facing whomever must view then correctly reproduce colors.

This process does not improve quality, at least not intrinsically. The reason it was created was to provide an exact match between what is viewed on a monitor and what is output on the printer. It is on that basis that good quality prints can occur: the physical results match the expectations drawn from what is seen on a monitor.

By providing correct software settings and incorporating the profiles, you allow the person who opens the files to understand the source and range of colors, to process the data without altering colors, density or contrast and, finally, to print reliably.

Foto Ranzini was a pioneer in the use color management in its labs, basing its operations on the ICC standard. This initiative was unequivocally a success, as our clients, having follwed suit, immediately saw its benefits and permanently incorporated the technique.

Our recommendation: always use color management, whether you operate in CMYK or in RGB.
